The Sill Scoops North East Tourism Award
The Sill: National Landscape Discovery Centre, located within the UNESCO World Heritage Site Hadrian’s Wall and Northumberland National Park, won Gold in the Business Event Venue of the Year category at the North East Tourism Awards held at Newcastle Civic Centre on Thursday 23 May 2023. The visitor centre was also Highly Commended in the Accessible and Inclusive category.
The Sill, Northumberland National Park Authority’s multi-award winning visitor centre was designed to inspire people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities to discover and explore the landscape, nature, culture and heritage of Northumberland National Park. Due to its location and state of the art facilities, The Sill has become the ideal venue for events, conferences, meetings and team-building activities, providing people with the opportunity to step away and disconnect from their usual workplace and connect with colleagues and nature for an inspiring and creative experience.
The North East England Tourism Awards celebrate the best of the region’s tourism industry, with accolades for businesses, events, and experiences that demonstrate excellence in tourism.
