Mouth Watering Opportunity for Catering Franchise
Northumberland National Park Authority is inviting catering providers to apply to take over the management of the catering provision at The Sill: National Landscape Discovery Centre.
The 90-seater café, currently called Once Brewed, is situated on the first floor of The Sill, and provides clear views of the iconic Northumberland National Park, looking out towards the UNESCO World Heritage site at Hadrian’s Wall.
The space can be used as a wet weather facility for activities including Dark Sky viewings, corporate away days, community gatherings and special occasions, including weddings.
The new franchise will have the opportunity to raise the commercial profile of The Sill, with a growth in corporate events, activity programme corporate events and seasonal fairs.
The café is currently a hub for a range of visitors, including tourists, families, and businesses. The Sill’s fast broadband and public Wi-Fi available throughout the building is a draw for those working in the rural area and is a good central meeting point for people travelling between Carlisle and Newcastle for work.
The new provider will share Northumberland National Park’s ethos of healthy eating, with fresh, local, organic produce on offer where possible and The Sill will welcome new and creative ideas to engage customers with the region and landscape through food and events.
Claire Mason, Sill Operations Manager said: “The Once Brewed Café is an integral part of the visitor experience here at The Sill, providing spectacular views of the Park and is a key opportunity to connect people with the story of landscape. We’re excited to see the culinary talent that is on offer in the North East and make our café a key part of what is already an award-wining visitor destination.”
The Sill aims to transform how people of all ages understand and explore landscape, history and heritage; opening up the landscapes of Northumberland National Park and surrounding area to people from all backgrounds including children, young people, families, and those less confident at exploring natural places.
